My name is Ida and welcome to my dream!
WHERE IT STARTED
I started Lotus Cakes back in 2019 at 16 years old after learning how to bake alongside my mom growing up. what began as a hobby quickly became a passion for creating cakes that brought people together. Throughout school and university, I spent countless hours experimenting with recipes, practicing new decorating techniques and learning new skills that would eventually grow into the business you see today.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND CAKES
My passion for baking eventually led me to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Alberta.
During my studies, I developed a deeper understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, sensory evaluation and product development. While cake decorating allowed me to express my creativity, my education has helped me understand the science behind creating recipes that deliver flavour, texture and quality.

Every recipe has been carefully developed and tested to ensure the best possible flavor and texture. From classic favorites to unique custom creations, each cake is made from scratch using high quality ingredients and designed specifically for your celebration.
I focus on creating cakes that feel timeless, elegant, and personal with that being delicate vintage piping, modern minimalist designs, romantic florals, playful themes, or something entirely unique to you.
